VERONICA A. SHIMANOVSKAYA

Veronica is a St. Petersburg born American artist currently residing in San Francisco Bay Area after she spend four years in London working on the professional doctorate in Fine Art programme.

As she is interested in pure subjectivity, and searching for the almost “pre-conscious” innocence and transformation, known under the concept of apperception, she is finding herself emerging more and more into the world of play as a method of art-production that yields the artifacts representative of the moment -- the pure moment of existence, and unmediated experience. She works in variety of media, from painting to video installation.

She studied art, architecture and dramatic art, and received her MA and DFA degrees from the University of East London, University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Harvard University respectively.
